Frequently asked questions about applying for a place in AGH student dormitories

  • Who can apply for a place in a dormitory?

    • Students, university candidates, PhD students and AGH employees, students of other universities in Kraków, as well as other people of student age.

  • What are the application deadlines?

    • Detailed information is available on the website in the tab Information for students.

  • Can international students of AGH apply for a dormitory place?

    • Yes, in the procedure dedicated to international students. Details are available on the website in the tab Information for students.

  • Can I apply for a dormitory before receiving my student ID card?

    • Yes. Please follow the application schedule carefully.

  • How can I apply for a dormitory place?

    • To apply for a dormitory place, you must create an account in the system and submit an electronic application in the procedure intended for you. You do not need to print the form.

  • Where can I find the application form?

    • The application form is available in the system in the tab Applications.

  • Can I edit my application after submitting it if I made a mistake?

    • No, applications cannot be edited. You can delete the application and submit a new one with correct information, but please make sure that the application is still available in the system.

  • Where can I check my application status?

    • In the same place where you submitted it - in the system, in the tab Applications.

  • Can I submit an application after the deadline?

    • No. Applications are available in the system only during the specified period.

  • Can I apply for a dormitory during the academic year?

    • Yes, by submitting free sale applications.

  • Can I choose a dormitory and roommate when submitting the application?

    • No. It is not possible to choose a dormitory or roommate during the application process.

  • Can I live alone in a double room?

    • Yes, if free places are available. To do this, you must submit an application in the system for an additional place for single occupancy in a double room. In this case, you must pay for both places.

  • Is earlier accommodation possible before the academic year starts?

    • Yes. Accommodation for the new academic year is usually possible in the last days of September, before classes start.

  • I received a dormitory place through the central dormitory allocation process. Can I move in after the accommodation deadline date?

    • Yes, if you declare later accommodation in the system. Please note that the accommodation fee will still be charged starting from the accommodation deadline date.

  • What should I do if I did not receive a dormitory place?

    • If you do not receive a place after the main procedure, you can still apply through the free sale procedure.

  • Is free sale the same as a waiting list?

    • You can think of it this way. It is a procedure used before and during the academic year. Places become available because of resignations or students moving out. To apply, you must submit an electronic application in the system. People outside AGH may also apply, but AGH students have priority.

  • Do I apply once for the whole period of studies?

    • No. You must apply for a dormitory place every academic year.

  • Can I live in the dormitory during holidays?

    • Yes. Selected dormitories remain open during holidays. To apply, you must submit a holiday application in the system (usually available from June). Holiday accommodation is usually possible until mid-September.

  • Can I change my assigned dormitory before moving in?

    • Yes. You can submit an application through the electronic exchange system available on the website. The change will happen automatically when a request in the opposite direction appears in the system.

  • How can I resign from my dormitory place?

    • Log in to the system, go to the tab Applications and confirm your resignation.

  • Can I continue living in the dormitory if I lose my student status during accommodation?

    • The decision is made individually and depends on the current availability of places.

  • Can graduates apply for a dormitory place after graduation?

    • Graduates can apply for a dormitory place only through the free sale procedure.
